Are Your Hands Clean

.

“Who are you to judge

the life I live?

I know I’m not perfect –

and I don’t live to be –

but before you start

pointing fingers…

make sure you hands are clean”

~ Bob Marley

.

As a drunk I was always judging other people,

I wanted to make sure I was not as bad as they were.

A.A. has taught me not to compare myself with anyone else,

but to identify with their feelings.

Today, I listen to the war stories and how it used to be,

but more importantly I love to hear how they used the A.A.

program to now enjoy a life that is happy, joyous and free.

Life is not judging others.

Life is living and loving in the here and now.

Trying To Find

.

“I am good,

but not an angel.

I do sin,

but I am not the devil.

I am just a small girl

in a big world

trying to find

someone to love.”

.

~ Marilyn Monroe

.

Poor Norma Jean,

looking for love in all of the wrong places.

Following three failed marriages she died alone

at age 36 of an overdose of barbiturates.

Many suspect that struggles with her mental health

and her substance abuse led to her eventual death.

True love usually finds those

who are not trying to find love.

Love is letting love find you.

Love is helping someone love themselves.
