Tangled Roots

005

.

“Growing apart doesn’t

change the fact that

for a long time

we grew side by side;

our roots will always

be tangled.

I’m glad for that.”

.

~ Ally Condie

.

Our roots are those experiences

that allow us to  become the people we are.

Neighborhood, church, school, summer camp,

sports, band, hobbies, family reunions or

whatever the experience may be, friends

have been there and when we move on in life

our roots remain entangled.

Friends are what make the experience

worth remembering.

Friendship is having tangled roots.

Friendship is a priceless gem

that is to be valued and protected.

Recognition

040

.

“Real friendship or love

is not manufactured

or achieved by an act

of will or intention.

Friendship is always

an act of recognition.”

.

~ John O’Donohue

.

You may not always be able to put your finger

on the exact thing that draws you to a friend

but you can always recognize the good feeling

when the friend says hello.

Friendship and love cannot be forced,

you cannot will yourself to like someone

who cannot give you those good feelings.

Today, feel good, be a friend.

Friendship is an act of recognition.

Friendship is a priceless gem

that is to be valued and protected.
