Imagine

048

.

“I cannot imagine

a God who rewards

and punishes the

objects of his creation

and is but a reflection

of human frailty.”

.

~ Albert Einstein

.

There is a Fellowship, a group of alcoholics,

who state that every soul should have a God

of their own understanding.

The happiest of their members are those

who imagine a God of love, compassion

and understanding that far transcends

mortal comprehension.

Today, you may believe in God or not,

but be happy, believe in love.

Happiness is imagining a God who is love.

Happiness is helping someone help themselves.

Perfectly Themselves

047

“The beginning of love

is to let those we love

be perfectly themselves’

and not to twist them

to fit our own image.

Otherwise we love only

the reflection of ourselves

we find in them.”

.

~ Thomas Merton

.

We are all characters with traits,

some of which are likable to others,

some of which may be annoying.

Love is that soul who has more likable traits

and even their few annoying ones

may be tolerable to some degree.

Today, live the paradox,

in love it is usually our differences

which make us compatible.

Love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves.

Love is helping someone love themselves.
