Nothing To Explain

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

“I always felt

that the great

high privilege,

relief and comfort

of friendship

was that one had

to explain nothing.”

.

~ Katherine Mansfield

.

What a wonderful feeling: no angst, no dread,

no fear and no negative expectations,

just the warm, comfortable, fuzzy feeling

that a friend will make everything all right.

If you are a friend

you are  “not”  selfish and self centered

and before you speak or act you will

regard how your friends will be affected;

no negative effects, nothing to explain.

Friendship is never having to explain anything.

Friendship is a priceless gem that is to be valued and protected.

Exchanged Vulnerabilities

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

.

“What was more,

they had taken

the first step

toward genuine

friendship.

They had exchanged

vulnerabilities.”

.

~ Arthur C. Clarke

.

A good friend knows where

all of your buttons are located

and respects you enough not to push them.

The buttons are those fears, emotions,

likes and dislikes, those things, real or imagined,

that make you uniquely you.

Trust, the foundation of friendship,

I will not expose your vulnerabilities

if you do not expose mine

and let us be friends forever.

Friendship is exchanged vulnerabilities.

Friendship is a priceless gem that is to be valued and protected.
