No Compromise

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA.

“The theology of love

must seek to deal

realistically with

the evil and injustice

in the world

and not merely to

compromise with them.”

.

~ Thomas Merton

.

Mean people will never love, be loved,

understand love or be willing to compromise.

Be kind, be loving, be patient, be tolerant

but never allow yourself to be used or abused.

Be wise, evil and injustice will use love as a

lure, a smoke screen, a way to capture

unsuspecting pure hearts.

Have faith, God’s love is very realistic.

Love is to deal realistically with evil and injustice,

no compromise.

Love is to help someone love themselves.

Perfectly Themselves

047

“The beginning of love

is to let those we love

be perfectly themselves’

and not to twist them

to fit our own image.

Otherwise we love only

the reflection of ourselves

we find in them.”

.

~ Thomas Merton

.

We are all characters with traits,

some of which are likable to others,

some of which may be annoying.

Love is that soul who has more likable traits

and even their few annoying ones

may be tolerable to some degree.

Today, live the paradox,

in love it is usually our differences

which make us compatible.

Love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves.

Love is helping someone love themselves.
