Avoidance

016

.

“The aim

of the wise

is not to

secure pleasure,

but to avoid

pain.”

.

~ Aristotle

.

Sticking one’s foot into one’s mouth is a pain.

Banging one’s head against the wall is a pain.

I’ll show you, I’ll hurt myself is a pain.

Selfish, self-centered, arrogant, grandiose

and egotistical is a pain.

The pleasure does not have to be sought,

it will arrive to fill the void

after the pain has gone away.

Today, be wise, be humble,

avoid the heartaches and be happy.

Happiness is avoiding the pain.

Happiness is helping someone help themselves.

Possibilities

.

.

“Indeed, man wishes

to be happy even

when he so lives

as to make

happiness impossible.”

.

~ Saint Augustine

.

Busy, busy, busy, trying to make money and the time

so you may go looking for happiness.

So engrossed in what can be done tomorrow

that we miss the simple happiness’s of today.

As the Pennsylvania Dutch would say,

“We grow too soon oldt and too late schmart.”

Today, be wise beyond your years by enjoying

those things that can really make you happy;

family, home, work, and play,

with everything in balance.

Happiness is possible when you live a happy life.

Happiness is helping someone help themselves.
