Love is

most nearly itself

When here and now

cease to matter.”

.

~ T.S. Eliot

Bliss, nirvana, perfect quietude, freedom,

the highest happiness, the state of not knowing, not feeling,

just being the way things are,  alive and real,

and in love.

It is time to give in, to quit, to just accept that

millions of poets, philosophers and hayseeds

have tried to define love and the ultimate answer

has always been, just because it is.

Love is in a time zone of its own.

Love is helping someone love themselves.

Measured

“Nobody has

ever measured,

not even poets,

how much

the heart

can hold.”

.

~ Zelda Fitzgerald

.

Is the heart a bottomless pit

or does it reach beyond the Universe,

only God knows.

Whether the poet be the writer of doom and gloom,

fear and anger, one whose heart is in the pits

or the bard of love and adoration

whose gentle heart bleeds for every romance,

they know no more than you know

about how much your heart can hold.

Today, think love, because everyone knows

that a loving heart holds the most.

Love is a heart that is beyond measure.

Love is helping someone love themselves.
